This event connected students, job seekers, and community members with networking opportunities, internships, employment options, and career resources designed to open doors and expand possibilities.
Career development is at the heart of OYC Miami’s mission. Through our Pillar of Economic Sustainability, we prepare youth and families with the tools, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive in today’s workforce. Events like this Expo are powerful steps toward building long-term success. 🌟

School may be closed, but learning never stops at OYC Miami! Today was an Enhancement Day, and our elementary, middle and high school students were exposed to enriching experiences that spark curiosity, build skills, and expand horizons.
The goal of Enhancement Days is to give youth opportunities beyond the classroom to learn through exploration, exposure, and hands-on experiences that prepare them for life. This aligns with OYC Miami’s mission to inspire, empower, and enrich the lives of youth, families, and children by bridging educational, social, health, and economic gaps and creating a clear path for success. 💙

OYC Miami took 17 of high school scholars to the Air Expo at Opa-Locka Airport, and our students were truly in awe of the experience. ✈️⛅️From seeing an aircraft up close to learning directly from aviation professionals, it was an unforgettable day of exploration and discovery.
This amazing experience exposing our youth to the world of aviation and opening their minds to future opportunities that are as limitless as the sky. 💙

OYC Miami’s @americorps members teamed up with the Miami VA to honor veterans during AmeriCorps’ Annual Service Day. Our members showed appreciation by assembling and distributing care packages and sharing time with local heroes.
The day was full of connection and joy with a lively game of Bingo and a special celebration for September birthdays. Most importantly, it was about listening, learning, and creating bonds with those who have given so much.
This experience left our members inspired and reminded us that service is about giving back and building community. To our veterans, we say with full hearts… Thank YOU!!! 💙

Exciting things are happening at the @wethebestfoundation Music Lab at OYC Miami. This dynamic space to learn and explore music is powered by @playingforchangefoundation , as youth take part in meaningful activities that allow them to create, collaborate, and discover the universal power of music.
Recently, students participated in a music exchange class led by @guitarsoverguns , where they connected with peers from Brazil and experienced firsthand how music transcends language and culture. Students were able to take this experience further—learning not only new sounds and rhythms, but also valuable lessons in teamwork, creativity, and global connection.
This exchange highlights the extraordinary opportunities being created in the Music Lab every day. From cross-cultural collaborations to original productions, the lab continues to amplify young voices, inspire creativity, and show that music is more than sound—it’s a powerful tool for unity and transformation. 🎶✨

Through a mock trial experience, our youth learned how the justice system works, explored the roles of attorneys, judges, and jurors, and saw firsthand the importance of critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking.
Opportunities like this not only build skills, but also open doors to future career paths while empowering students to understand their rights and responsibilities as engaged citizens. 💙

Civic engagement isn’t just important—it’s powerful. At OYC Miami, our youth are stepping up and showing what it means to lead. From canvassing neighborhoods to share resources like the OnMed Care Station and voter registration info, to meeting with local government officials, and even traveling to our nation’s capital in Washington, D.C., they are learning firsthand that their voices matter.
By engaging in the process, they’re not only building leadership skills—they’re shaping the future of their communities. When young people lead, they inspire others to act, proving that change starts with a conversation, a knock on the door, or a seat at the table. 🙌🏽✨

Shopping Spree Alert! 🎉 The 21st Annual Cool Gear for the School Year, hosted by the @jtfoundation99 , took over Old Navy with an unforgettable back-to-school celebration!
The day kicked off with a meal from Chick-fil-A, music, the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, the Miami Heat Dancers, mascots from the Miami Dolphins and Miami Marlins, and even football players celebrating with our youth. 🐬🏀🏈⚾✨
Then the spotlight turned to 15 OYC Miami students, who each received a $300 gift card to shop for back-to-school essentials. With the help of their very own personal shopper, they picked out fresh looks, gained confidence, and walked away ready to take on the school year in style. 🛍️👟💙
A huge thank-you to the Jason Taylor Foundation for 21 years of making back-to-school unforgettable and for continuing to invest in kids across South Florida. This tradition is about more than new gear—it’s about joy, pride, and walking into the school year ready to succeed.
